The lecture series Creating A Classic: Exploring Timeless Collaborations in Architecture & Design occurred on November 15th, 2023, in West Palm Beach, FL. Moderator Mitch Owens joined award-winning lecture panelists Khoury & Vogt Architects as they shared an intimate lens into their creative process across the professions of architecture, interior design, and landscape, in addition to highlighting their Addison Mizner Award-winning projects using engaging conversation and imagery.

The Panelist: Marieanne Khoury-Vogt & Erik Vogt

Established in 2001 in Miami by Erik Vogt and Marieanne Khoury, Khoury & Vogt Architects specializes in architecture, interior design, urban design, and town planning. Erik Vogt holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Miami and a Master of Architecture from Yale University. Marieanne Khoury earned her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Wisconsin after three years of study at L’Ecole Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris. Additionally, she holds a Master of Architecture and a Master of Urban Planning from the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. Both Vogt and Khoury are licensed architects in Florida. 

Khoury & Vogt Architects is most notably known for their development and building of Alys Beach, an urban community nestled on 158 pristine acres along the Gulf of Mexico. The city blends old-world style with Bermudan architecture including white sand courtyard homes, outdoor galleries, terraces, gardens, fountains, and pools. Their approach emphasizes drawing from local architectural traditions while reimagining enduring building styles.

Christiana Cabinetry proudly co-sponsored the ICAA event in collaboration with Alys Beach, showcasing a steadfast commitment to advancing education in architecture and design. Each sponsor donated a collection of curated gifts for the 30-dinner attendance, with the custom cabinetry manufacturer delivering hand-crafted French rolling pins wrapped in a branded apron. Alys Beach provided a tote with a hard-copy edition of their book.
