As a space for entertaining family, friends, and clients, this kitchen/bar needed to be functional as well as welcoming. Christiana Cabinetry took the lead in designing and building this show-stopper of a kitchen. The client wanted a break from the traditional cabinetry in the upstairs kitchen. Featuring contemporary elements like a slatted ceiling, open shelving, and a specialty glass cabinet door, this area brings a warm feel to a modern space.
Fully functional
The clients wanted a fully functional kitchen to complete their entertainment suite. Christiana Cabinetry’s design included a host of top-of-the-line features like: a wine cooler, coffee bar with an above-counter coffee maker, under-cabinet lighting, and Gaggenau appliances. Open shelving allowed for easy access as well as efficient use of space. A sleek look and continuous surfaces make the area feel both spacious and inviting.
Warm and welcoming
Exquisite Italian-made hardware, paired with a textured, high-definition laminate, creates an urbane vibe in this second kitchen. Brushed aluminum handles complement the deep wood grain of the cabinetry. Laminate, featured prominently in European design, promotes a more uniform look and color. The ceiling slats, treated with a bleached white oak stain, temper the space and add both warmth and interest.

Many times, a minimalist design can feel stark or cold. Bringing in wood grain cabinetry and, in this case, allowing the white oak in the ceiling to peek through the translucent gray stain softens the distinct lines. The result is a space that invites you to linger.
