On the day of delivery, the designer should be on site to inspect the cabinetry as it is unloaded. Once the cabinetry is installed, the tradesmen will return to make reconnections. Generally, a kitchen is installed within a week to 10 days; though some details may prolong the installation. Your designer should provide a realistic installation timeline.
