what to expect when visiting a showroom

What to expect during a remodel

Making your old kitchen space new requires a tremendous amount of coordination. First the old has to be removed and the new installed.

Your kitchen designer will help you determine who will do these tasks. This may include carpenters, contractors, electricians and plumbers. They will also help coordinate timing for the specific tasks.

To ensure that everything is installed correctly, all plumbing and electrical should be roughed-in and the appliances should be available before the cabinets are delivered. On the day of delivery, the designer should be on site to inspect the cabinetry as it is unloaded. Once the cabinetry is installed, the tradesmen will return to make reconnections. Generally, a kitchen is installed within a week to 10 days; though some details may prolong the installation. Your designer should provide a realistic installation timeline.

What to expect in new construction

Your kitchen designer will work with your contractor to determine the timeline for cabinetry installation. They will also ensure that the plumbing and electrical is roughed-in before the cabinetry arrives. The designer will coordinate with the contactor to ensure that all appliances, electrical and plumbing are connected.
